Blog Entry 64 of 154 Computing and you!
What's going on in computing, why it's important to master the productivity software on your computer and how to harness the power your computer provides you at work and in your home.

I Tweet, therefore I am.
Contributed by: John Scherer   on 9/29/2008

More and more state governments are all a twitter about Twitter. Using Twitter, you can "Tweet" constituents with quick 140 characater messages about everything from public hearing to events.

You can receive a Tweet on your computer or PDA. Like anything new, it's off to a slow start, but growing in acceptance.

States using Tweets to communicate with you include Colorado, Utah, Kentuck and Maine.

I'm not sure who is challenged the most by all this. Taxpayers, or political types who have to keep their message to 140 characters or less!

Either way it's catching on.

But if it helps government communicate with the folks who live along Main Street. I'm all for it.
