For 40 years, the non-profit Jeffco Action Center has stood as a beacon of hope to the homeless, near homeless and working poor of Jefferson County helping thousands of families and individuals break the cycle of poverty and improve their lives and their community.
Come celebrate with us on from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25 at the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Boulevard, Arvada, Co. The Birthday celebration will incorporate a brief annual meeting. Peg Stokes, one of our founders, will be our special speaker. Each decade will be remembered in picture and song.
The Jeffco Action Center provides an immediate response to the basic needs of more than 25,000 Jefferson County residents each year and promotes pathways to self-sufficiency through intervention, prevention and connection programs. Action Center programs include a food pantry, a clothing bank, medical assistance and providing funds for utility assistance. It also maintains Jefferson County's only singles, couples and families welcome 22-bed shelter whose residents receive a safe haven while rebuilding their lives. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, the Action Center gives help, provides hope and builds dignity while breaking the cycle of poverty.
