Colorado Christian University Hosts Public Q&A November 3 and 10
November 2, 2009 - Who will be the next governor of Colorado? Why is the nation watching the state's race for the U.S. Senate? A pair of forums will address these issues tomorrow and next week as we reach the one-year mark in anticipation of the 2010 election. Both events will be hosted by the Centennial Institute, the think tank launched this year by Colorado Christian University (Lakewood, Colo.).
PART ONE-TOMORROW:
•DATE/TIME: November 3, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
•PLACE: CCU Music Center auditorium, 9200 W. Ellsworth Avenue, Lakewood (along Garrison Street several blocks north of Alameda Avenue)
•ADMISSION: Free, open to the general public
•RESERVATIONS: Space is limited; RSVP to
centennial@ccu.edu, provide party name, number of people, and return phone number and/or e-mail address
Contenders for Colorado governor in both major parties will square off. Following brief opening statements, the entire event will be dedicated for questions from the public, moderated in chief by John Andrews, the former Colorado Senate president and current Centennial Institute director. Confirmed participants include Scott McInnis (R), Josh Penry (R), and Dan Maes (R). Gov. Bill Ritter (D) has been invited; his reply is pending.
PART TWO-NOVEMBER 10:
•Same time, location, admission, and RSVP information as above
•Opening statements from candidates, followed by audience Q&A
•Moderated by John Andrews and CCU student representatives
Hear from Colorado's candidates for the U.S. Senate. Jane Norton (R), Ken Buck (R), and Tom Wiens (R) have confirmed; an invitation is pending with Sen. Michael Bennet (D), and participation was declined by Andrew Romanoff (D).
Both events will be taped for later statewide airing on Colorado Public Television and Salem Radio Network.
