Marinelli Announces Re-Election Bid

Sue Marinelli has announced she will seek a second term on the Jefferson County School Board in the November 2009 mail ballot election. Marinelli represents District 2, which includes the mountain area, Golden and Green Mountain. While school board members represent a specific district, they are elected by voters in the entire county.

To kick off her campaign, Marinelli will host a school supply drive and fund-raiser from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 12 at the home of Rose and Tom Myers, 7 South McIntyre Way, Golden. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served.

"I believe we are on the road to providing more options and opportunities to ensure that every student can succeed in school. I would like to have the chance to continue this important work and see it through," Marinelli said.

"Sue Marinelli has been a highly involved school board member, active in multiple committees to benefit our Jeffco students. She cares about kids," said parent Michelle Winzent.

If you are interested in attending the campaign event, RSVP to Marinelli at 303-674-5835.

Im sad that I wont be able to attend this but I look foward to learning more about this candidate as well as education issues which are my weak point.

I've attended several meetings and study sessions this year with an interest to learn more about the operation of the district. I have to admit that it's hard to find fault with any of the board members, I think that they all are dedicated to the improvement of the Jeffco School District and enhancing the educational experience. Her comments are consistently the comments of an individual dedicated to providing the very best educational opportunity to all students including the population of students that have low graduation rates.
