Pizza man's prediction pays off on Bernie Madoff's conviction
It's been displayed on his Wadsworth-facing window for four months "Free Pizza When
Bernie Madoff Goes to Federal Prison." Johnny's New York Pizza owner
John Keiley is ready and willing to make good on his pizza payoff now that Bernard Madoff plead guilty to one of the biggest scams to hit Wall Street.
From the moment the news of the disgraced financer's guilty plea, Johnny's New York Pizza's telephones started ringing; "Did you here the news?" "When's the free pizza day?" "No bail out for Bernie." The calls kept coming in. And while the free pizza day has yet to be determined, everyone knows it will be soon and the Keiley will be happy to do it.
Keiley gained national notoriety during his prior predictions of the Rockies sweeping the Yankees, the Patriots going 16-0 and with the Tampa Rays in the World Series. While the Tampa prediction came close but no cigar, Keiley gave out free pizza when the prior two predictions came true. After the Ponzi scheme Pizza giveaway, Keiley will be 3-4 in his predictions and will cost the pizza owner an estimated $30,000 combined. This total does not include Keiley's most-recent pizza give-away on March 2, during the grand opening of his newest venture, My Pizza Peel, at 1645 Stout. That event attracted over 1,200 people and raised over $600 for Denver's Road Home.
