Learning Source Needs Volunteer Tutors

The Learning Source for Adults and Families, a local nonprofit organization working to educate Denver metro adults and families, is gearing up for its fall classes and is in need of adult volunteer tutors in the Denver metro area. Areas of instruction are English language, reading, writing, math and GED preparation, and no prior teaching experience is required.

Evening (6-9 p.m.) and morning (9 a.m. to noon) orientation and training sessions for volunteer tutors are scheduled on Monday, Aug. 10, and Wednesday, Aug. 12. For more information and directions, contact Volunteer Recruiter Tara Vinlove at tara@coloradoliteracy.org or

303-957-2883.

"Many of our volunteer tutors return year after year," explains Susan Lythgoe, executive director of The Learning Source. "However, especially with the tight job market, we continue to experience increased demand for our classes."

Established in 1964, The Learning Source (coloradoliteracy.org) is located at 455 S. Pierce in Lakewood and operates 26 literacy programs at 14 locations throughout the Denver metro area.
