The renowned brass band Rocky Mountain Brassworks returns to Lakewood on Friday, November 6th at the Lakewood Cultural Center for a salute to veterans and current members of the Armed Forces. This energetic concert will include patriotic classics, rousing marches, compelling brass arrangements, and powerful adaptations of "Swingin' Yanks", "Stars and Stripes Forever" and "The Armed Forces Salute."
The band last performed in Lakewood two years ago, delighting an enthusiastic audience with brass interpretations of patriotic and Americana music. This year will be even more thrilling, as Rocky Mountain Brassworks performs "Liberty Fanfare", the energetic "U.S. Mail' and the moving "Images for Brass."
Mr. Doug Harris is the band's new music director this concert season. He's excited to return to Lakewood, as Doug taught at Lakewood High School for 14 years and is looking forward to seeing familiar faces in the audience. Doug commented during a recent rehearsal, "The band has been working very hard to make this a special evening for the audience. Through the power and emotion of music, we want to acknowledge all military personnel who served this country."
