Clock tower building at RMCAD
Contributed by: Jeanne Brown on 9/27/2007

I was taking a tour of the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design last weekend. They mentioned that the clock tower building located on the property belongs to the City of Lakewood. Does the City of Lakewood have any plans for the clock tower?

Dear Jeanne,

Thanks for asking! Thanks to a little bit of detective work by YourHub.com user Jennifer Sylman, we have the answer.

The clock tower, or New York building was purchased by Jefferson County in 1977 after legislation was passed in to furnish a correctional facility.

The organization currently leasing the building is Intervention Community Correction Services, a nonprofit corrections agency that provides a wide variety of services to the criminal justice system. Services include residential /non-residential offender management, substance abuse monitoring, and educational/vocational assistance. For more information, click here.
