Call me Crazy; But Affordable Spas Are Going National

By Linda Dillon, Orange Skye Body and Beauty Bar

Sheridan, CO

Everyone thought I was crazy to use renovated buildings to provide affordable spas. They actually laughed when I told them I was taking the idea national. Sure they didn't believe me when I said that spas should not only be affordable, but located in homes and historical buildings. You know, places with comfort and history. Wonder what they will say when I open an Orange Sky spa in Vietnam next year? Yes, Vietnam has some charming old buildings and one of them is just right for an Orange Skye Spa.

As Founder of Orange Skye, I transformed a home in Sheridan, CO into a spa for the everyday person - people like me. Who knew it would be only the first of many. Just last month, my newest franchise owner, Maggie Paterno opened her Orange Sky Spa in a historical building in New Jersey, a 100-year-old colonial landmark home that is fondly called "Lilly".

Says Orange Skye Body and Beauty Bar President Linda Dillon, "It was great to start in Sheridan, CO because I wanted to show people that charm of towns like Sheridan. Thus, I encourage our franchise owners to utilize existing buildings to not only enhance the community but to convey that spa treatments should be an affordable part of everyone's life. After all, Orange Skye Spas don't cater only to upscale clientele, they are for anyone that deals with today's hectic, stressful world. Indeed, like the Sheridan location, the new Middleton, New Jersey neighborhood hasn't been the same since Orange Skye moved in."

"People are constantly stopping, taking pictures, and thanking me for turning an old rickety building into a homey place where people can come and be pampered inside and out," says Maggie, "Converted bedrooms are now six full treatment rooms, the sunroom is an airbrush tanning salon, and it's a very comfortable environment that men as well as women can enjoy. But, to tell you the truth, I couldn't have done it without Linda Dillon and her staff. She is the visionary behind it all and they have been my partner every step of the way."

Says, Linda, "Women like Maggie are why I began teaching people how to run their own Orange Skye spa. She truly had the vision to see the potential of an old building and the moxie to pursue her passion. So, kudos to Maggie for not only renovating a building, but transforming an entire community into a healthier way of thinking and living," says Linda.
