Students from Kindergarten through 2nd Grade at
Green Mountain Elementary School
were recently sworn in to help the Amazing Food Detective in his search for healthy choices.
The lively presentation by Kaiser Permanente Theater Progams engaged the students in the quest for finding healthy snacks and activities. Through fast action and catchy slogans the team managed to present the students with important information on foods to avoid such as doughnuts and soda and how to make healthier choices like eating 5 servings of fruit and vegetables per day.
The audience also enjoyed the jumping jacks that were used to demonstrate the importance of getting your heart pumping, getting enough exercise and not spending too much time in front of a computer or television each day.
Green Mountain Elementary School
has been teaching the importance healthy choices in a variety of ways including its first annual health fair earlier this year and the before-school running club.
