CCU's April Forums Represent Scholarly Triple Play
Contributed by: Colorado Christian University on 4/7/2008

Lakewood, Colorado - Continuing a bold move intended to set a new bar for scholarly discourse in open forums for students and the surrounding community, Colorado Christian University (CCU) President and former United States Senator Bill Armstrong announced a triple-header of nationally renowned scholars to visit campus this April.

"In times as we face today across our country, it is absolutely essential that students be given the opportunity to hear and talk with scholars of excellence," President Armstrong commented on the forums. "It is my goal for CCU to lead a commitment to a Christian worldview of our nation and an examination of the many secular-based issues we confront. We need to do all we can to strengthen Christian perspective worldwide. We will fulfill this basic obligation as a Christian university. There is no room to stand on the sideline on issues that erode our Christian faith."

The April 2008 CCU Forums:

April 8: Dinesh D'Souza - A bestselling author and public policy speaker, D'Souza will present on the topic of "Christianity, Islam, and the War on Terrorism." D'Souza has been called one of the "top young public policy makers in the country" by Investor's Business Daily. The New York Times named him one of America's most influential conservative thinkers. The World Affairs Council lists him as one of the nation's 500 leading authorities on international issues. Newsweek cited him as one of the country's most prominent Asian Americans.

April 14: Michael J. Horowitz, Esq. - Horowitz will speak at CCU on "The Committed Christian in American Public Life: Views of an Admiring Jew." The Director of Hudson Institute's Project for Civil Justice Reform and Project for International Religious Liberty, Horowitz has been an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law School, special counsel for the Committee on the Judicial Branch of the Judicial Conference of the United States, and special counsel to the National Council of Young Israel. He served as chairman of President Reagan's Domestic Policy Council on Federalism and was co-chairman of the Cabinet Council's Working Group on Legal/Tort Policy.

April 16: Dr. Michael Behe - Behe will speak at CCU on the subject of "Intelligent Design." His book, Darwin's Black Box, discusses the implications for neo-Darwinism of what he calls "irreducibly complex" biochemical systems. The book was internationally reviewed in over 100 publications and recently named by National Review and World Magazine as one of the 100 most important books of the twentieth century.
