In keeping with its tradition of serving the local arts community, the Lakewood Arts Council's South Union Gallery is currently displaying the work of several Jefferson County residents. This year's holiday art sale includes a wide range of unique decorations and gifts as well as original art. Many of the works in the show are those from our own Lakewood artists.
Holiday crafts and small gift items have been created by Jane Dolan and the Red Hat Society, Lois Mool, Deb White and Ann White. All kinds of pottery, wood, ceramics, stained and blown glass are supplied by Linda Backus, John Lloyd, Rosalie Metzger, Barbara Pierce, and Jean Thompson. In addition, unique teapots and plates by Lakewood artist Shane Porter are featured. Elegant jewelry by Nancy Palsulich, and knitted or hand-woven clothing by Susan Mattson, Doug Sleevi and Beverly Zeromsky is also showcased. Karen Martens has provided her always popular selection of hand-milled soaps and fragrances.
In addition to the gift items provided by Lakewood artists, works by artists from all over Jefferson County are included. You'll find everything from hand painted furniture to home-made treats for sale. Shop the South Union Gallery these final days before Christmas for a truly unique gift for that special someone. Shoppers are reminded that the gallery does not take a commission on any sales, so every purchase directly benefits the artist.
Gallery hours are 10-5 Tues-Fri and 10-4 Sat & Sun. We will be closed for the holidays December 24 - 26 and December 31 - January 1. For information, call 303-980-0625 or view
