Two distinctive artistswill befeatured in the front window of the South Union Gallery during the month of June.
Sue Palmer
is a Denver artist who works with fused glass. Fused glass is a unique process in which different colors of glass are layered and then fired at a very high temperature so they melt together. Sue uses this process to create everything from large, decorative plates and dishes to very small pieces of one-of-a-kind jewelry.
Miriam Ritter
is a watercolor artist from Arvada specializing in floral and landscape paintings. She also loves to experiment with creative techniques and interpretation of subjects in watermedia. She is currently serving as the president of the Arvada Fine Arts Guild and is a member of the Mountainside Art Guild.
Unique treasures for your garden and home will be found in abundance at the gallery this month. The popular
From the Earth
exhibit and sale of pottery, wood and glass items by local artists will take place, as will the Lakewood Arts Council's annual plant sale. Additionally, the Mountainside Art Guild's annual members exhibit is on display in The Loft, our upstairs gallery, and includes artwork done with a wide range of media and subject matter.
South Union Gallery is located at 85 S. Union Blvd. inLakewood (four blocks south of Sixth Avenue on Union, turn in by Wendy's) next door to Kobe An restaurant. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Saturday and Sunday. We are closed Mondays. For information, call 303-980-0625 or visit
