15th Annual Colorado Book Awards - Oct 18 at DCPA

Winners of the 15th Annual Colorado Book Awards will be announced Wednesday night, October 18th starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts Seawell Grand Ballroom. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased online by visiting Blacktie Colorado at CO Book Awards or by calling: 303-894-7951, ext. 10.

Sponsored by Colorado Humanities/Colorado Center for the Book, the event will be emceed by
e-town radio program host Nick Forster with a live performance by Nick Urata, lead singer for the nationally acclaimed indie rock band DeVotchKa. Also, Denver Mayor Hickenlooper will drop by to honor author finalists. Guests receive an autographed book, and a chance to bid on Frontier Airlines tickets or a literary gift basket with Colorado author mementos.

Among authors attending are: Margaret Coel, author of the Wind River mystery series, Nick Arvin ( Articles of War), Pam Houston ( Sight Hound), Laura Pritchett ( Sky Bridge), Denise Vega, author of "Click Here: To Find Out How I Survived Seventh Grade," and many others. Also, poets Aaron Anstett, Ida Fasel, Jane Hilberry, David Keplinger, and Sheryl Luna, and photographers John Ninnemann, Jim Steinberg will be present.

Come honor some of Colorado's best authors, poets, photographers and others who make our state a literary center of the West.
