Llama stars in new Fielder/McAdam kids’ book
Contributed by: Two Sons Press on 11/19/2007

A llama takes center stage in Westcliffe Publishers' newly-released title, Maria's Mysterious Mission, the second children's book to feature the work of Colorado's renowned nature photographer John Fielder. Authored by award-winning Colorado writer Claudia Cangilla McAdam, Maria's Mysterious Mission follows on the heels of the duo's vastly successful first collaborative work published last fall, Do You See What I See?.

Illustrated by Anna-Maria Crum, each two-page spread of Maria's Mysterious Mission imaginatively melds Crum's illustration with Fielder's photography. Readers will have fun discovering on each page where the illustration stops and the photography begins.

Fielder and McAdam will be signing the book on Sunday, December 9, from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in Denver West Village, 14347 West Colfax Avenue. For more information, phone 303-215-9060.

In Maria's Mysterious Mission, a homesick llama finds herself in Colorado, far from her native South America. When she sets off on a mysterious mission with a heavy pack on her back and a heavier weight on her heart, she forges a new friendship and comes to see her life in Colorado through very different eyes.

McAdam's and Fielder's first book, Do You See What I See? invites readers young and old to discover hidden worlds within Fielder's landscapes with the help of McAdam's poetry. This book will also be available for signing at this event.
