The
Sunny and Cher(i) Show
performed for
Rocky Mountain Village
, one of the top
Easter Seals
camps in the country, located near Empire, Colorado. The main office for Easter Seals Colorado is located in Lakewood, 5755 West Alameda Avenue. Rocky Mountain Village
,
nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, is fully accessible and used for summer camp sessions by more than 800 children and adults with disabilities. At Rocky Mountain Village, campers enjoy swimming, fishing, arts & crafts, dances, outdoor camping, hiking and entertain-
ment like the
Sunny and Cher(i) Show.
Performers
Sunny Marie Hackman
and
Cheri Seeton
entertain preschoolers, grade schoolers, adults and seniors with vaudeville variety, including comedy sketches, clowning, magic, music and audience participation. "I wouldn't have known anything about the Easter Seals Camp if Sunny and I had not been invited to entertain. The campers were an enthusiastic and delightful audience," said Cheri.
The performers were treated to a delicious home-cooked meal and the excellent company of campers, counselors and members of the Journey of Hope. The Journey of Hope, along with the Sunny and Cher(i) Show, stopped in for a visit. The Journey of Hope is a team of Pi Kappa Phis bicycle riders that raised more than $500,000 to help bring acceptance and understanding to people with disabilities. The Journey of Hope is a ride with a purpose from San Franciso, CA, to Washington, D.C. Each rider raised a minimum of $5,000 to participate. These young men have been dedicated to people with disabilites since 1977.
Easter Seals values volunteers. If you have a heart to help the disabled or have a disabled child, go to
