Greg Fitzsimmons is a very clever and forward kind of guy. I am excited to announce his arrival to Denver's Comedy Works next weekend. He "tells it like it is" while still keeping a straight face in the process. His material involves personal stories about his own family life and he is very adaptive to current events in pop culture and media. He applies his own theories very well to his family, celebrities, politics and daily events.
He stays in the moment and is clever in his transitions. Due to his regular appearances on
Best Week Ever on VH1, he has perfected the art of American pop culture humor. Some of his past material includes: "We're Americans, we're not good people, but we're proud of that...I mean, look at Deal or No Deal," and "Paris [Hilton] is like old news. No one cares..." His gags about diverse groups, such as hill-billies, babysitters and seniors on Prom night are whole-heartedly funny, as he frequently references promoting safe sex practices.
He's a down-to-earth family man as well. He discusses being a father and a husband in ways that most people do not. He claimed in one interview with Comedy Central that he never thought he would be that kind of comedian that makes jokes about his family, when he was first performing stand-up as a college student from BU. But now he claims, "When you're a young comic, you're like 'awe I'm never gunna become one of those comics that talks about his wife and kids,' and then you have a wife and kids and you go 'you know what, I
have to talk about this!"
This Irish Catholic loves his grandparents as much as his favorite ale, and he has a lot of Irish flare and sarcasm to boot. For show information, visit
