The finalists have been chosen, the choreography is being set, and the world is watching. Be a part of history in the making as Ballet Nouveau Colorado hosts the final phase of the groundbreaking21 st Century Choreography Competition.

These 3 dynamic choreographers won the 1st round of the competition with YouTube videos rated by viewers nationwide. Now they each have 9 days to create a compelling new work in hopes that they will be chosen as the TOP 21st Century Choreographer.
Alex Ketley
(in residence with BNC February 21 - 29)
A former professional dancer with the San Francisco Ballet and Alonzo King's LINES, Alex is co-founder of The Foundry (San Francisco) and Resident Choreographer for the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. His choreography has won numerous prestigious awards, and often involves improvisation, mixed media and collaborations.
Ma Cong (
in residence with BNC March 3 - 11)
A professional dancer with Tulsa Ballet and an international guest artist, Ma's career as a choreographer is on the rise. In 2006 he was named one of Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch" for both dance and choreography, and in May 2007 he was named by Oklahoma Magazine as one ot the state's "40 under 40."
Heather Maloy (
in residence with BNC March 14 - 22)
At 17 she was the youngest dancer ever to be hired by North Carolina Dance Theatre, and she began her choreographic career two years later. The founder and Artistic Director of Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance in Asheville, NC, Heather's work has been commissioned by numerous companies.
From now until the final show, we will be posting video introductions and blogs from the choreographers. Get to know them and their work before you come to the performance.
Vote with the experts.
Each show, Artistic Director Garrett Ammon will be joined by experts in the dance and arts world to judge the three entries. The audience will cast the final vote, with the winners announced on the final show. Judges include:
