Summer comes alive with the Ninth Annual
Sounds Exciting! Summer Concert Series. An eclectic mix of musicians will perform Wednesday evenings from June 25 through July 30 at the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Amphitheater at Lakewood's Heritage Center in Belmar Park, 801 S. Yarrow St. Enjoy a casual, family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of musical styles ranging from a tribute to "The King" to hot Salsa.
This year's featured national acts bring high energy music, rhythm and dance to the stage with
Buckets and Tap Shoes; and jazz and pop standards, showcasing Canadian vocal sensation Sophie Milman.
In her mid-20s, Sophie Milman's 2004 self-titled debut has sold almost 100,000 copies worldwide, hit the Billboard Top 5 in Canada and the Top 15 in the United States, and topped the iTunes jazz charts in five different territories.
A highlight of the 2008 concerts, Buckets and Tap Shoes -- a unique company of musicians, percussionists and rhythm tap dancers -- has astounded audiences, creating intense driving rhythms with 5-gallon buckets, metal cans, barrels, found objects and tap shoes.
