This week Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Allison Parkway, has unveiled
"Past Faces, Familiar Places: Two Exhibits of 20th Century America"
titled"Kitchen Goddess" and "Faces of Creativity."
The
Kitchen Goddess---
a
juried exhibit from the Women's Caucus for Art, Colorado Chapter---features several works under the theme of the mid-20th century modern housewife or "Kitchen Goddess." The show runs
through March 23
at the
Lakewood Cultural Center North and Mezzanine galleries.
Faces of Creativity
examines the work of George Pickow, who chronicled the American arts and music scene through black and white photography. During his career Pickow photographed more than 400 record albums featuring musicians such as The Platters, The Righteous Brothers, Pete Seeger, John Denver and Arlo Guthrie as well as painters Edward Hopper & Thomas Hart Benton and poet Carl Sandberg. The show runs
through April 27
at
Lakewood Civic Center's South Gallery.

will be held
Friday, January 26
from
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
at the Lakewood Cultural Center
Faces of Creativity
Curator Charles Parson, program chair of Art at the Community College of Denver, will make a special presentation at
10 a.m.
on
Saturday, January 27
at the Lakewood Cultural Center.
