Bionic woman

Editor's note: Visit our Faces of Lakewood and Edgewater page, where YourHub.com staff and readers can introduce you to more people -- and a dog -- who make this part of the metro area what it is.

Sandy Austin, counselor at Green Mountain High School, and graduate of the school herself, started the schools' B.I.O.N.I.C (believe it or not I care) Club four years ago. Designed to help the kids who fall between the cracks, the club has reached out to over 21,000 people in the community, providing everything from welcome kits to in-coming freshman, to hospital visits, to visits to families who have experienced the loss of loved ones.
