Crystal Swenby and
Mo Wahlmeir, employees of Lakewood, Colo.-based Video Professor, Inc, discovered an interesting connection half a world away, quite by chance.
With a staff of over 200 employees and working in different departments, their two paths seldom crossed. It was not until Crystal won a company contest that Mo decided to drop by and congratulate her. He saw a picture of her brother at her desk.
Crystal's brother,
Tim, flies a Blackhawk helicopter in Afghanistan. Mo mentioned how his brother
Greg flew Apache helicopters in Afghanistan. It didn't take them long to figure out that both of their siblings flew for the same unit of the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne!
Crystal and Mo quickly contacted their brothers overseas and arranged a meeting between the two. Just like their family members back home, their paths hadn't crossed either.
The siblings met just in time, since Greg was ending his tour of duty and heading back home. Tim, meanwhile, continues to fight for our freedom taking to the air each day in his Blackhawk helicopter.
However, on one day in Afghanistan, they met, and shared the bond of having a brother and a sister working together back home.
Now Crystal and Mo have a picture of their brothers together at their desks.
It is indeed, a small world. And a safer world, thanks to Tim and Greg.
Swenby is an administrative assistant in the company's legal department.
