Artopia Presents a Benefit for Performing Arts
Buffalo Rose hosts benefit for local area school music programs
by Linda Bolander
If you have noticed area arts programs are dwindling and have wondered what you could do to help, Artopia has a suggestion for you--have a good time! Come to the Buffalo Rose on September 13 from noon to 8:00 p.m. The day's entertainment comes to you courtesy of Artopia Arts.
There will be a host of great rock bands from all different genres, from American rock/soul to Irish pub rock and everything in between. Also on the marquis will be student bands from Encore School of the Arts, a performing arts academy located in the Collegiate Academy of Colorado in Littleton, as well as between-set appearances by a local improve comedy troupe.
Here are the performers that have agreed to donating their time for the cause of supporting arts education in Colorado.: Your Wall, Cymbalizm, Knit Wits Improve Troupe, Stone Walls, From the Mouth of Cthulhu, Steven Mac Band, and Ash Ganley.
Proceeds will scholarship students of Encore who are in need, as well as help provide instruments for local arts-oriented schools. All admission tickets will be donated to the cause.
Help put an instrument in a music lover's hands for only a few dollars, and have fun doing it, at the Buffalo Rose. Come and dance, sing along, and enjoy the camaraderie that only music can offer; and if you're hungry, you can order off the Buffalo Rose's excellent menu. Tickets are $7.00 general admission, only $5.00 for students and seniors.
For more information about the concert or Encore's many performing arts programs, call Artopia Art Activists at 720.290.4603, or Encore School of the Arts at 720.338.0388.
