TAP O' THE MORNING TO YOU!
YARD HOUSE RESTUARANTS ADDS A BIT OF BLARNEY TO ITS AWARD-WINNING MENU IN HONOR OF ST. PATRICK’S DAY

Irvine, Calif. (March 1, 2006) – It may be a long way from Tipperary, but Yard House, heralded as having the world's largest selection of draft beer, will add its own twist to the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration March 15-18 with a festive menu, holiday libations and contemporary Irish music. Each of Yard House’s 12 locations, including seven Southern California units, two restaurants in Greater Phoenix, plus single units in suburban Denver and Chicago, as well as Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, will be open for lunch, dinner and late-night dining.

In addition to the vast selection of ales and stouts, Yard House’s award-winning executive chef has created an Irish-inspired menu to celebrate the festive occasion. Chef Carlito Jocson’s St. Patty's Day specials include Corned Beef Brisket braised in Irish beer with boiled red potatoes and cabbage ($13.95); an oversized Shepherd's Pie with Guinness-stewed beef sirloin and roasted garlic mashed potatoes encased in a puff pastry ($14.95); and a Grilled Corned Beef Sandwich with melted Swiss cheese and caramelized onions served on toasted French bread and accompanied by hearty stack of French fries ($9.95). In addition, Chef Jocson's signature menu of American Fusion cuisine, which features more than 100 items, will also be available throughout the day.

"Yard House takes a traditional holiday and gives it a contemporary twist," says Chef Jocson. "We’ve started our own St. Patty’s Day traditions at Yard House by offering an innovative menu using Guinness and other flavorful products to enhance traditional Irish dishes. Our extensive list of draft beer complements the menu as well."

What would St. Patrick's Day be without a pint or half-yard of green tinged ale? In addition to the 130-250 taps available, holiday specials include Emerald Isle-colored Coors Light and Pyramid Hefeweisen. Ireland is also represented at the restaurants’ signature island bar where George Killian Irish Red, Guinness Stout, and Harp Lager are represented among the 130-250 beers on tap.

Other shamrock-inspired concoctions include Irish Coffee made with Bushmills or Jameson Irish Whiskey and topped with a dollop of whipped cream; the three olive Shillelagh Martini made with chocolate vodka, Frangelica, Bailey's Irish Cream and Half & Half; and an Irish Boiler Maker infused with a shot of Bailey’s Irish Cream mixed with either Bushmills or Jameson Whiskey and dropped into a glass of Guinness. The Berry Irish Martini, a new addition to this year’s beverage menu, features Skyy Berry Vodka, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Dekuyper Razzmatazz and Half & Half. Drinks start at $8

Yard House, which was named as having the Best Beer List by both Nation’s Restaurant News and Cheers magazines, is also known for its state-of-the-art sound system and its vast library of classic rock tunes. For St. Patrick’s Day patrons can expect to hear the sounds of such Irish artists as U2, Sinead O’Connor, Van Morrison, the Cranberries, and many other Emerald Isle patriots.

Yard House is located throughout Southern California, including Long Beach, Irvine Spectrum, Costa Mesa, Rancho Mirage, San Diego, Rancho Cucamonga, Pasadena, and opening March 26 in Downtown Brea. The award-winning restaurant is also located at Colorado Mills in Lakewood on the Denver border; Glenview, Illinois, 20 miles north of Chicago; Desert Ridge Marketplace in Phoenix and Fashion Square in nearby Scottsdale; and in southern Florida at Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens. All restaurants are open for lunch, dinner and late-night dining.
