No one ever meets true love at a bar

I was told no one ever found true love in a bar, but
Joe
, my husband, and I met at Little Bear in Evergreen on a foggy, cool, July 5th, 17 years ago...
Most would not think this unusual, as everyone has fallen in love sometime the closer it gets to midnight in a bar. I do believe though I was destined to meet Joe.
I was 38, a single mom, and had just put my 8 -year-old son on a plane to see his dad for several weeks. I was feeling blue and ready to spend the next couple of weeks working and feeling sorry for myself and oh so lonesome. The weather was very unusual for Denver in July, very overcast and foggy at 2:00 in the afternoon. I knew a band was playing at the Little Bear in Evergreen, J.D. and the Love Bandits, and I wished to hear them, as I had booked the band as entertainment at a place I worked. I quickly talked myself out of going up to Evergreen with the weather so dark, and just did not even have the energy. Just then something told me, "Get up girl and go now!" So I went up to Evergreen on that damp July day.
The place was not rocking yet as it was early in the afternoon. My band was getting ready to start, I had my Pepsi, and stood ready to listen. I felt a pinch on my behind , not once, but twice, and I turned and stated to the yound man next to me I did not appreciate that. He did not take me seriously and thought it was great fun to torment me. I would have moved but by this time Little Bear was starting to filll up. I saw a harmless, nice looking man at the end of the bar having a good time and minding his own business. I asked if I could stand by him so I would not be pinched again and he said yes. We spent the next four hours together and a year later I asked him to marry me and again he said yes.
We have been married for 16 years and I do believe Joe is my soul mate and we were destined to be together. The funny thing is we have not been back to Little Bear since.

How funny...I met my husband, Joe at a bar 9 years ago and it was love at first sight. How very blessed we are.

Great story Cynthia ... thanks for sharing. It's amazing how the seemingly small decisions (like you going to the bar that night) shape our lives!
