Bolseth acquires “Top Dog” status
On 6/1/2008

Many of us in the adaptive sports community who know Ron Bolseth automatically think of him as a quad rugby player or even as the general manager of the Rollin' Rockies wheelchair softball team but few us would ever consider him a competitive eater. Well, on Sunday, June 1, Bolseth added another feather to his cap by qualifying for Steve's Snappin' Dogs' Hot Dog Eating Contest - more commonly known as the "Chow Down for Charity" event. Bolseth will join a group of seven other competitors as part of the "Elite Ate" who will chow down at the finals to be hosted on July 27, 2008.

Bolseth qualified for the finals by beating out other competitors including fellow teammate Sonny de Guzman, at the first of four qualifying events Steve's Snappin' Dogs has planned over the next few weeks. Contestants are given a total of three minutes to eat as many hot dogs as they can with the top two contestants at each qualifier moving on the finals. Bolseth will join San Wong of Denver as the first two qualifiers.

The event is geared to raise funds and awareness for the Colorado Aids Walk and Project Angel Heart. The event is open to the general public with a $25 entry fee which will benefit the charitable organizations.
