Morgan Dasch, 10,
was nominated by her basketball coach
Trish Rogers
for her outstanding leadership and dedication and won the award for the 2007 All-League Jr. WNBA Player for the Susan M. Duncan YMCA in Arvada.
Rogers said Dasch stood out from the crowd because of her will to learn the sport and the fact that she tries everything she tells her to, including left-hand dribbling, pivoting and good defense. Rogers also says Dasch has the most heart and is a great listener.
"She's a little bitty peanut and couldn't even get the ball up to the goal. After only two seasons (this being her third), which she diligently showed up for practices and games, she is one of my most improved players," said Rogers. "She is scared of nothing and always has a smile on her face. She does play the game the best she can, she is most definitely a team player, always respects the opponent and has improved in all three areas of mind, body and spirit since I first met her a year ago."
Dasch is a fourth-grader at Stober Elementary School in Lakewood. Her parents are Mary Beth and Mark Dasch.
