The teachers at Carmody Middle School in Lakewood are showing innovative and effective uses of technology in their classrooms, so much so they've been awarded the HP Technology for Teaching Grant. The grant initiative is designed to support innovation in the classroom and is awarded to K-12 public schools that are using a collaborative, team-based approach to implementing technology integration projects.

The total value of the grant award from HP is more than $38,000. The five-member teacher team will receive a new notebook PC, a digital projector, digital camera and other tech tools to bring technology into their classrooms. Schools with teams that are the most successful in implementing their proposed projects may be given the opportunity to receive larger leadership grants in 2009.
