Local man graduates plumber utilities course

Army Pfc. Jimmy D. Hill Jr. has graduated from the Plumber Utilities Apprentice Course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas.

The course is designed to train students to install, maintain and repair exterior and interior pipe systems, which include water, steam, gas and waste lines as plumbers and pipe fitters. Students are trained to read, interpret and plan layouts of pipe systems using blueprints; bend, cut and thread lead, copper, and plastic pipes; install connectors, fittings, joints, and appropriate plumbing fixtures; and proper use of maintenance tools, equipment and materials.

Hill is the son of Jimmy D. and Peggy L. Hill of Lakewood.

He is a 2001 graduate of Green Mountain High School.
