Event to protest closure of horticulture program
Contributed by: Francie Bronner on 5/19/2008

Warren Tech's horticulture program is closing after 35 years of success in the Jefferson County school system. From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. May 30, there will be a "Dig In" to protest and to honor this wonderful program's existence. The Warren Tech garden center is located at 13300 W. Second Place, Lakewood. Bring a shovel to symbolize displeasure in discontinuing one of the few high school horticultural programs in the state.

This program has helped literally a thousand or more Jefferson County students further their knowledge, form life long friendships and experience unsurpassed teaching by the instructors throughout the years. Sadly, every last plant has to go, so along with your shovel, plan on picking up a new plant or two!
