Incidents reported by Lakewood Police
MAN WITH KNIFE GETS PEPPER SPRAYED
Police were called to La Bailarina, 5660 W. Colfax Ave., at 10:45 p.m. April 17 on a report of a disturbance. A manager at the bar told police a man tried to enter the bar at 10:15 p.m., but the manager turned him away because he was intoxicated. About 15 minutes later, the man returned. The manager told him to leave, but the man stepped forward and reached into this pocket. Thinking the man might have a weapon, the manager sprayed him in the face with pepper spray. The man fell to the ground and the manager discovered he had a steak knife in his hand. Police arrested the 25-year-old Edgewater man on suspicion of concealing a deadly weapon and trespassing. He was lodged at Jefferson County Jail.
MAN DAMAGES GIRLFRIEND'S CAR
The report of a man throwing rocks at a car brought police to the 12000 block of West Second Place at 12:01 a.m. April 19. The 31-year-old Arvada man was attending a party with his 25-year-old girlfriend and became angry when she said she would not drive him home because she was not sober enough to drive. The man reportedly cracked the windshield on the womans' car, kicked in the passenger side door and kicked in one of the headlights. The man was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and domestic violence and lodged at Jefferson County Jail. The estimated damaged to the car was $1,000.
CAR WASH EMPLOYEE POCKETS EXTRA TIPS
Police responded to the Octopus Car Wash, 7490 W. Colfax Ave., at 9:27 a.m. April 21 regarding an employee theft. One of the business's cashiers, a 30-year-old Golden woman, reportedly took $30 from the tip money that gets split with employees at the end of the day. The woman said she took the money because she had something to pay. She was issued a summons on suspicion of petty theft and released.
YourHub.com collected these reports from area police and sheriff agencies. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
