Incidents reported by Lakewood Police
Police were called to an apartment complex
on the 400 block of South Youngfield Court at 5:22 a.m. June 30 after a Heineken bottle was thrown off a rooftop, smashing the rear windshield of a Honda parked below. According to police reports, the damage to the vehicle was $400. Police contacted about 15 suspects in an apartment where a party was going on. Several people were hiding from police in the attic crawl space and would not come down until officers crawled up after them, reports said. The resident of the apartment, a 22-year-old man from Lakewood, was issued a summons for disobeying a police officer, as were the people in the attic. The people who were under 21 and consuming alcohol were cited as well, police said. No one admitted to throwing the beer bottle, reports said.
Three guests at the Homestead Motel at 8837 W. Colfax Ave
. were startled when a man started yelling andbanging on their door at 10:29 p.m. June 27. According to police reports, one of the guests said the man was kicking the door and screaming at her because her truck was blocking his path to a trash container. The man, a 41-year-old from Lakewood, told police he was "inconvenienced" because he had to walk an extra15 to 20 feet. He said he was not a violent person, he only spoke violently, reports said. He was issued a summons for disorderly conduct and harassment.
A woman called police at 12:06 a.m. June 22 after
a her houseguest took off his clothes and broke her window. According to police reports, the woman was allowing her friend, a 34-year-old man from Lakewood, stay with her at her apartment on the 3300 block of South Field Street. That evening, the man had come to her residence acting upset and proceeded to get naked in her living room, reports said. After the woman told the man to leave, he ran out her front door naked and broke the front window of the apartment, police said. The man turned himself in to the Lakewood Police Department on June 28 and was issued a summons on suspicion of criminal mischief.
A 30-year-old Denver man was arrested on suspicion
of DUI at 1:45 a.m. July 3. The man was initially pulled over at South Sheridan Boulevard and West Kentucky Avenue for speeding 52 mph in a 35 mph zone, police reports said. Upon discovering that the man did not have his license, registration or insurance and that his license was suspended for DUI, the man was arrested.
