Lakewood Police detectives have made an arrest in the death of a female whose body was found shortly after 6 p.m. on May 9. The body of 32-year-old
Kathryn T. Young
was discovered after police agents responded to investigate calls about an odor coming from an apartment in the 600 block of South Reed St.
Detectives determined the death to be a case of homicide and after an extensive investigation have arrested the victim's husband, 37-year-old
Rodricke Mikel Martin Shari
(10-26-70).
A warrant obtained by Lakewood detectives today, charges Shari with first degree murder, first degree burglary and aggravated robbery. Shari has been in custody for an unrelated charge in Denver. Lakewood detectives took custody of Shari this afternoon and transported him from Denver to the Lakewood Police Department for booking. He will eventually be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail later today and most likely will make an appearance in court either tomorrow or Friday.
Detectives think that the murder was the result of a domestic violence incident.
