Police responded to Kohls, 3150 Wadsworth Blvd., at 4:40 p.m. June 5 on a report of a possible theft. A loss prevention officer in the store noticed a woman walking around hastily throwing merchandise into a mesh bag and alerted police. When police arrived, officers observed the woman run out of the store carrying a bag of merchandise. A store employee was chasing the woman. The woman jumped into a waiting vehicle. Police stopped the vehicle before it was able to leave the parking lot and arrested the 33-year-old Denver woman and a 37-year-old Denver man on suspicion of shoplifting. The woman was lodged at Jefferson County Jail due to her outstanding warrants. The man, who was driving the getaway car, was booked and released on a summons. The value of the stolen merchandise was $974.

EX-BOYFRIEND DAMAGES CAR WIPERS
At 1 p.m. May 30, a 46-year-old woman came into the Lakewood Police Department to report a domestic violence incident. She told police that sometime between 6 and 6:30 p.m. May 29, her ex-boyfriend damaged her car. The woman said the man called her for a ride to see his father, who was in the hospital. When the woman arrived, the man was drunk. After arguing with the woman, he ripping off the windshield wiper lever from the steering wheel column on the woman's car, rendering the wipers unusable. The 42-year-old Lakewood man was later arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief, violation of restraining order and domestic violence. The estimated damage to the car was $800.

The woman went to the self-scan checkout and paid for a greeting card and bag of candy but not the flowers or hosiery. The woman was contacted by the officer at the front of the store. She told police it was an accident. She was issued a summons and released. The value of the items was $14.38.
