DOG NEGLECT REPORTED
A woman contacted police at 7:50 a.m. May 6 to report her husband was neglecting his dogs. The woman told police she hadn't been to the apartment she shared with her husband in a week because they were going through a divorce. When she arrived on May 6 to pick up some belongings, she discovered the three dogs in a crate, covered in feces and without food or water. Police came to the residence on the 2500 block of Sheridan Boulevard and observed that the dogs were indeed in poor condition. The woman took one of the dogs with her and police transported the remaining two dogs to Table Mountain Animal Center. The husband, a 31-year-old Lakewood man, was later issued a summons on suspicion of animal neglect.

Police were called to a parking lot at 12043 W. Alameda Parkway at 4:16 p.m. May 8 on a report of a man masturbating in his car. When police contacted the man, he denied the allegation and said, "That's disgusting!" He said he had been sending text messages from his phone on his lunch break. When police discovered the 31-year-old Denver man was a convicted gang member, they asked him to get out of the car to be patted down for weapons. When the man got out of the car, his pants were unzipped. The man was arrested on suspicion of public indecency and transported to the Lakewood Police Department for booking.
