Police blotter: Drunk man causes ruckus

Incidents reported by Lakewood Police

DRUNK MAN CAUSES RUCKUS
Police were called to the 7300 block of West Hampden Avenue at 10:33 p.m. May 13 on a report of an intoxicated person. A 42-year-old Lakewood man had been yelling at other residents of the complex and had threatened to beat a woman's kids up. Police advised the man to stay inside his residence. When he came out and began yelling, he was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and lodged at detox.

NO FISHING
At 8 a.m. May 16, an officer observed two men fishing near the swim beach at Bear Creek Lake Park in a "No fishing" area. When the officer asked to see their fishing licenses, they said they left them at home, then admitted they didn't have one. The 25-year-old man and 20-year-old man, both of Englewood, were cited on suspicion of fishing without a license.

SHOPLIFTER BUSTED
At 8:30 p.m. May 13, a 38-year-old Denver woman was cited on suspicion of shoplifting from Wal-Mart, 7455 W. Colfax Ave. The woman tried to leave the store with a cart full of merchandise, saying that she had paid. The woman was unable to produce a receipt and the cashier said she did not come through the line. The amount of the items was $275.

LOUD PARTY CAUSES CONFRONTATION
Police responded to the 6700 block of West 19th Place at 1:50 a.m. May 18 on a noise complaint. The two women who reported the incident said their upstairs neighbors had been having a loud party. The women said they got impatient waiting for police to arrive and confronted their neighbors, which resulted in a shoving match between the two parties. When police went upstairs, they could hear loud music, stomping and talking. The lease holder of the apartment, a 42-year-old Lakewood woman, was issued a summons on suspicion of unreasonable noise.
