Volunteers sought for diversion program

The Jefferson and Gilpin Counties' District Attorney's Office is seeking volunteers to work with domestic violence offenders in their Misdemeanor Diversion Program. The Diversion Services Program provides supervision and services for felony and misdemeanor offenders.

This is an ideal opportunity for people interested in doing something about domestic violence in their community. Volunteers will be trained and the program operates out of the District Attorney's Lakewood Office.

Volunteers must be at least 21 with no criminal record. A 12-month commitment (minimum of 4 hours/month) is requested with possible court involvement. Good people skills and a desire to work with people are desired.

Anyone interested should contact Bill Gayzik, Diversion Services, 11011 W. Sixth Ave., Suite 220, Lakewood, CO 80215-5501. Call 720-497-7804 or e-mail
bgayzik@jeffco.us.
