A new course at Red Rocks Community College prepares mortgage brokers to meet new state education and licensing requirements.
By Jan. 1, 2009, all mortgage brokers doing business in the state of Colorado must have completed 40 hours of education and passed a state licensing test. The requirement, approved by the state legislature in 2007, affects an estimated 9,000 brokers.
The Rocky Mountain Education Center at Red Rocks Community College is offering training that will meet the educational requirements. This training will cover:
•the loan originator's responsibilities
•the purpose and provisions of each law and regulation governing mortgage loan origination
•penalties for non-compliance
•real estate transaction and loan origination forms
Courses will be offered weekdays and weekends. Call 303-914-6423 for more information or to register.
