Alternative energy program comes to WarrenTech
Contributed by: Christopher Major on 5/15/2008

Alternative energy is a fast-breaking field in need of a specialized workforce.
The Alternative Energy Program at Warren Tech is designed to provide the high school students with an introduction to many facets of the industry. The program is open to any junior or senior Jefferson County High School student who is interested in a career in the alternative energy industry.

Students will explore energy sources of the future such as wind, solar, and fuel cells. The class will also produce batches of bio-fuels such as Ethanol and Biodiesel that are used in transportation.

Further, the students will get exposure to hydrogen fuel cell technology, including designing and building model fuel cell cars to race in competition. Classes in the program will include hands on projects as well as potential internships.

This is a new technology industry that is growing exponentially and the opportunities for employment are outstanding. Many leaders in the alternative energy industry have relocated to the front range area because of the availability of the technically skilled workforce.

Contact Warren Tech by calling (303)-982-8600 and tell them you want to enroll your son or daughter in the Alternative Energy Program. Or contact the instructor directly in arranging a tour of the facility and to answer any questions you may have.
