I am a concerned resident of Lakewood. I support the Rooney Valley Open Space land exchange project. I had a sign in my yard stating that fact until yesterday (Dec. 7) when it was stolen by the opponent.

They were distributing flyers in my neighborhood. They put a flyer on my front door and then proceeded to steal my yard sign that says "Vote For the Rooney Valley Open Space Land Exchange" project. I feel that they were trespassing on my private property when they stole the sign that was in my front yard in favor of the project. What other tactics will they use? This leads to my next question, "Will they take my Christmas decorations that are on my private property also? Only time will tell.

I am positive that it was the oppostion that removed my yard sign. Also there were flyers posted on mailboxes in my area earlier and the FOR ones were removed and replaced with AGAINST flyers. This is NOT the work of pranksters.

I really think pranksters would find something more interesting to do than steal a sign. I am FOR th Rooney Valley Open Space Land Exchange. I hope voters will find out, before they vote, what a great benefit this exchange is to the city.

Isn't it ironic that the opposition claims to be protecting our property rights.

That's terrible. We have also had an incident. My friend's car was broken into to take a sign. This is a passionate issue. We all need to stay above board.

If you saw the opponents steal the sign - why didn't you call the police? That is theft! Are you sure it was them and not some pranksters??

Voters of Lakewood: Come out to Forsberg Parking lot this weekend and see for yourself. The land being traded is located off Alameda and on either side of the entrance road being constructed by the developer now. The land to be received by the city in the trade is located to the west of the existing homes and to the east of the developer's construction fence. See you there!
