Feb. 28, 2006 - Have you heard about the Post-News Colorado Colfax Marathon, scheduled for May 21? If you haven't, come to an open house to learn more.
The mayors of Lakewood, Denver and Aurora have come together to create the marathon as a way to highlight Colfax Avenue and to encourage the public to come back to the historic avenue. Runners will start in Aurora, make their way through Denver and finish the 26-mile course in Lakewood.
Residents and business owners are invited to find out more about the marathon. Marathon management and representatives from the City of Lakewood will be available to answer questions about the marathon including events planned by Colfax businesses in conjunction with the marathon, volunteer opportunities, traffic plans and public safety, race registration and sponsorships.

WHEN: 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 9
WHERE: Charles Whitlock Recreation Center, 1555 Dover St.
WHY: Learn about the marathon, set for Sunday, May 21.
