Engaging in Social Responsibility - A free and informative luncheon for HR and business leaders
The Jefferson County Workforce Center, with the Arvada, Evergreen, Golden, and West Chambers of Commerce, are hosting a free and informative luncheon around the Employer of Choice program - "Why and How to Build your Business while Building Your Community and the Environment." The event will take place at the Marriott Denver West on June 10, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The keynote speaker is Fred Keller, President and CEO of Cascade Engineering.
The "triple bottom line" concept is gaining speed in the business community - especially among publicly-traded companies. It describes how organizations should focus on more than just financial results. We all understand the bottom line to mean "money," but for a variety of reasons, businesses must now recognize their environmental and social impacts as well; engaging in what is called a "sustainable business model."
The luncheon is part of a day-long workshop called "Employer of Choice," where over 50 CEO and company leaders will explore and focus on the key elements of building an employer of choice environment that attracts and retains the right mix of talent. The program will present various strategies to help employers create a work environment in which employees love to work, and voluntarily offer their ingenuity, loyalty, creativity and discretionary effort to "do more with less". Being an employer of choice means you can more easily attract and retain talent even through tough economic times.
There is no cost to attend either event, but registration is required and space is limited.
