Cat-lovers in Westminster are pleased to announce
Feline Alliance, a new non-profit dedicated to helping homeless cats all over the Denver Metro area. Supporters are spreading the word to all animal lovers out there about our mission and fundraising challenge.
Feline Alliance is dedicated to addressing the national crisis of pet overpopulation, abandonment, and unnecessary euthanasia. We are committed to serving the community and working together to promote a communication network and support resources for those caring for homeless and stray cats, by creating a collaborative coalition with other humane organizations. We will also work with and educate property owners in appropriate decision making and humane solutions for stray and homeless cats. In addition, we will increase awareness and educate the public about the proper care of cats, the importance of spaying and neutering, the benefits of adopting shelter cats, and kindness to all living creatures.
We achieve our mission through a variety of activities, including providing food and care for feral cat colonies, assisting community members with the trap-neuter-return (TNR) method to help reduce the overpopulation situation among feral and stray cats, educating the community regarding proper care for cats, assisting with the adoption of friendly cats into loving homes, and collaborating with the animal welfare community to help protect and provide humane solutions to the sad conditions of abandonment, abuse, and neglect of domestic animals.
Over
70% of cats who enter our nation's animal control pounds and shelters are euthanized. For feral cats, the kill rate rises alarmingly to
virtually 100%! All felines - whether they are companion animals, strays, or ferals - deserve protection and humane treatment, and
you can help.
Feline Alliance invites you to join us for our
Ten-Day Fundraising Challenge: to raise $1,000 in Ten Days! In this economy, finances are tough for everyone, but you can still help. By contributing at least
Ten Dollars, and by asking at least
five of your friends to do the same, you can help us achieve our goal by
August 10 th, thereby helping us care for more homeless cats and kittens in
your community!
