Lakewood High School holds Empty Bowl Concert
Contributed by: Lesley Gray on 11/15/2007

The Lakewood High School Instrumental Music Department presented the Empty Bowl Concert on Thursday, November 8, 2007. Students, parents and a few professional artists made more than 500 ceramic bowls for the event. The dinner featured soups from the Women's Bean Project. The LHS String Orchestra along with the Full Orchestra, Concert Band, and 8th Avenue Jazz Bands performed at the concert. The Empty Bowl Concert was the brainchild of Liz Popoff and organized by Liz Popoff and Carol Timblin. The event was held as fundraiser for the LHS Instrumental Music Department. The LHS bands and orchestras will be traveling this spring to California to perform at Disneyland and Catalina Island.
