Lakewood on Parade marches into town

The city showed its pride during Lakewood on Parade on Aug. 25. The sidewalks of Belmar were packed with onlookers, who cheered as the parade marched, twirled, drove and even cartwheeled its way by. From politicians to scout troops and marching bands to dance troops, the community was well-represented in the parade. Did you participate in the parade? Be sure to check for your photo, or post your own parade photos here.

Following the parade, festival-goers crossed the street into Belmar Park, where they could visit booths, be entertained by street performers or grab a bite to eat. This was also the first year the festival had a sand sculpture contest, sponsored by Engineers Without Borders. For photos of the contest, click here.
