Patriotic Chapel at BLS

Colonel Paul Baldwin, state director of the Colorado Selective Service since 1983, was the special guest speaker at Bethlehem Lutheran School's chapel service on Wednesday, September 16.

He talked about patriotism, and spoke to the students about his life and encouraged them in their own lives. The second grade students played "Jesus Loves Me", "You're a Grand Old Flag", "God Bless America", "Battle Hymn of the Republic", and "Yankee Doodle Dandy" on their handbells, and they also recited the preamble to the Constitution. The eighth graders put together a very moving PowerPoint presentation to the song "God Bless The U.S.A." (I'm Proud to be an American) by Lee Greenwood, and they also read a collection of patriotic poems and selections. It was a wonderful way to start the school day!

Bethlehem Lutheran School is located at 2100 North Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood - www.bethlehemschool.org - 303-233-0401
