I would like to nominate the Flamenco Society of Colordao for thier 27 years of dedication as a non profit to promoting the art of Spanish art in Colorado.
Fall Flamenco Concert at the Lakewood Culture Center Boast International Cast.
Renee Fajardo
Heat up your fall evenings with some hotter than hot Flamenco passion at the Lakewood Cultural Arts Center this Nov. Jeanette Trujillo's, Flamenco Society of Colorado will present, A Night of Flamenco Magic, at the Lakewood Culture Center Saturday, Nov 4th at 7:30pm in the
intimate 310-seat theater at 470 S. Allison Parkway in Lakewood.
The show promises to be rival any show of its kind in the Country. An international troupe of dancers, singers and musicians make this a powerhouse performance. This fabulous concert will feature Spanish dancers Jeanette Trujillo, Groupo Maria Vasquez, Gina Martinez, and singer Megan Chandler from Colorado. Flamenco musicians Steve Mullins, Ojaleo, and Sangria will also join together for a fiery night of flamenco.
The internationally recognized new breed of flamenco dancer Juan del Valle will make a special guest appearance to perform with the Colorado troupe. The Spanish virtuoso is widely recognized as a maverick of Flamenco dance.
"Interestingly flamenco has caught on like wild fire internationally. This will be a wonderful opportunity for Denverites to experience the art of Flamenco as it is interpreted by other countries. Most of these performers have returned recently from overseas and their perspective on Flamenco is refreshing. This renewed interest by an international audience has breathed new life into this exquisite form of artistic expression. We will begin to see a whole new generation of Flamenco artist and in turn a renewed audience following." said Trujillo.
Jeannette Trujillo-Lucero, a nationally acclaimed dancer and instructor of Spanish and Flamenco dance and director of the Flamenco Society, once again brings together a magical performance of professional Flamenco's from throughout the state.
Trujillo known for her stunning and awe-inspiring, showcase of Flamenco Cante (song), Baile (dance), and Toque (guitar) has out done herself with this fresh new show.
The evening will showcase Spain's Andalusia gypsy's most famous art form with a smattering of Flamenco styles, including Bulerias, Alegrias, and the sensual, haunting, Leyenda.
For flamenco aficionados and Nuevo flamenco fans, this is the show to see.
"This will be a night of fabulous music and Spanish inspiration," Said Trujillo. I really want to present the best of what I can to Denver, this setting is intimate and personal and will allow the performers and the audience to experience the true magic of what flamenco has to offer. We do not have to go out of state or overseas to enjoy this art form. We have the world coming to us."
