Community Residents Discuss Ballot Initiatives
Contributed by: Dan Mahoney on 11/1/2006

With the November 7 th election just around the corner, Communities United to Strengthen America (CU) hosted their Arvada Community Coffee with Jefferson County residents to discuss the ballot initiatives and the implications they have on middle-class families.

During the event, The League of Women's Voters made a presentation on the arguments for and against each ballot initiative, while attendees asked questions about the ramifications that each initiative poses to citizens of Colorado.

On Saturday, November 4 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, concerned families will be making phone calls to their neighbors encouraging them to vote on issues like:

  • Exploding health care costs
  • Declining household incomes
  • Increasing college tuition costs
  • Families working longer hours to pay the bills

If these issues concern you and your family, please join us in getting out the vote!
