Elementary students love the Rockies
Contributed by: David Dunham on 4/4/2008

What a wonderful and fun writing topic! I am a 5th & 6th grade teacher at Red Rocks Elementary and noticed your promotion for the Rockies Suite. As a teacher of young, aspiring writers, I thought I would use this as an authentic writing assignment. I have posted each student's story for consideration. The students have had a fantastic time writing. Please know that I did not review or comment on any of their wiring, so that I could be impartial and they could enjoy the spoils of victory! If any are winners, please contact me at my email or phone number.

Thank you - Dave Dunham, Teacher, Red Rocks Elementary

Do You Love the Rockies?

I feel a great surge of excitement as I take my slow, smooth steps. I can smell the sweet aroma of the buttery bags of popcorn, and the sweet pink cotton candy as it looms along in the pouches the venders sell it from. I can feel my hands sweating within my pockets as I hear the announcer's voice explode from the speakers like lava erupting from a volcano as he says, "Play ball!" I love baseball. Baseball is a way of life, and if I had the chance to watch my favorite team play an entire game from a suite, it would be a glorious dream come true.

To this day I can still remember the first time I ever went to a Rockies game. I was only 5 years old, but every moment is still crystal clear in my mind. On the way to Coors Field, my Dad spun a tale of the first time he went to a baseball game, and I became more and more interested as each word passed his lips. "It was like watching a nature show," he had said, "and each player was like an animal, acting in its own unique way in its own unique habitat, each one playing a specific part that the game couldn't be played without." I was mesmerized as we walked through the big tunnel, and the field opened up in front of me, and by the time the game ended, my love for baseball was born. After that first game, it was nothing but baseball. Baseball non-stop. I started playing baseball, I got posters and bobble-heads for my bedroom, and I tried to go to as many Rockies games as possible. And each time I went to one, I saw the boxes, the fancy-schmancy suites where other people sat, and I wanted to be sitting in one of them. I still hope that I can get that opportunity. It's something I've always wanted to get the chance to do, and I always wanted to fulfill it.

Not only has it been something I've always wanted to do, but my father, and the rest of my family, all as in love with baseball as I, would be as happy to watch a Rockies game from a suite as a poor man would be to win the lottery. Ever since I was 5 years old, I always wondered what it was like to watch a game from a suite. I hope that one day I'll know, but that chance may never come again if I don't take this one.

If my family and I got to watch a Rockies game from a suite, I'd finally get to do what I've always wanted to do.

Strike outs, home runs, foul balls. And bats. Todd Helton, Matt Holiday, Jeff Francis, and Tulo. The cracks of bats, the cheers of crowds! Vendors just keep on selling and selling. The dirt flowing up off of the ground. Purple, black, and white waves color Coors Field. What does this all add up to? The Rockies of course! Everyday fans think of the Rockies as baseball heroes. "We want more Rockies" they yell.

Every time I stroll into the field, the sweet smell of cotton candy and the bitter smells of perspiration fill my nose. And I enjoy it. I then feel like I am in baseball heaven. I focus on the Rockies and no one else.

Every game, the Rockies play their hardest, and they always come out proud, win or lose. They do not laugh at the other team when they win like some other teams do.

We even had a door contest in Rocktober at our school. I think ours was pretty cool. We had signs saying , "Rocktober rocks." Hanging off of our desks.

This team is the one and the only, ROCKIES!!!

The Rockies. The Rockies are eminent. I love the Rockies. They are an idol that I look up to. With their skill, and their heart for the game, the Rockies make up my favorite team.

I think that it would be exhilarating if I got to go to the Rockies game because I could sit in a box suite and watch that unbelievably incredible team play that game they know best. I think that I would be the most ecstatic to watch the world series finalists, the Rockies, play. While sitting in box suites, the smell of peanuts, hotdogs, and cotton candy fill the air. The exquisite and lush green grass on the field, and all the faces painted in the vociferous crowd.

I would have the time of my life. In an amazing suite, I could watch the baseball game like I have never watched before. The Rockies, with Tulowitski and Helton, Holliday and Atkins, hitting homeruns. My heros. I have decorated my classroom with rockies stuff and made desktop Rockies, doing this all in my love and furorof the sensational Colorado Rockies. They are stunning. Truly stunning.

Three homeruns and a coke later, I could be watching my favorite team in exuberance of being there. But certainly not in awe because we all know Clint Hurdle's famous saying, "Respect everything and be in awe of nothing." I am lucky because my teacher, who is alike me with the love of the Rockies, would give me the opportunity to go out of school to watch that team, that prominent team, that incredible world series team, my favorite team, the Rockies. Not many sports have game during school, that would be awesome!!!

The Rockies, as they were in the world series, dominated. Dominated their time, their game, and they did amazing. Truly amazing. I would be so ecstatic to go and watch that team, that dedicated team, my favorite team, in the best seats in the whole stadium.

I have been to the Rockies game a couple of times, and every time I have gone, I have seen those box suites. When I saw those box suites, I have always hoped that someday, I could sit there, and watch the game in the best seats in the house.

I have a passion for the Rockies, and when I write this letter, I am writing it for the love of my home team, the Rockies. I hope that I, a kid who is truly in love with the Rockies, will get the incredible opportunity to win the tickets, and watch that game in a way I have never seen it before.

Fun, fun is the word that converges to my mind when I unwrap my eyes. Then my senses kick in; smell are the fresh peanuts waiting to be vended. Taste is the delectable chocolate cake coming from my suite. Oh but that's not all my friends, sight is the chocolate brown diamond surrounded by the forest like luscious green grass.

Now for some Rockies talk, I worship the oh so amazing Rockies because they allow me have fun even if they lose, that's reason number one of why I worship the Rockies. The Rockies give me the adrenalin rush, the tip of the seat nail biter. That's reason number two of why I adore the Rockies. I am also honored to say the Rockies are huge role models for me because they play for the fun not for the big green that describes me. They also have ecstatic sportsmanship yet that describes me. I have been in the newspaper before and included the Rockies and I hope that tells you how much I love this team. That is reason number three of why I cherish the SUPER DUPER ROCKIES and I'm out!

Do You Love the Rockies?

Unlike most people I have been a fan of the Rockies from birth. Just the thought of me my family and friends in a suit 12 tickets and seeing the Rockies play one of the 6 teams is the thought of heaven on earth.

Unlike most People I have stuck with the Rockies through losses though wins and now through a national league Championship. Whether they win or lose just the thought of cheering them on is the thought of romance in heaven.
Though they lost, lost like a bull losing a fight in the World Series all it did was spike my excitement to a whole new level. All though I am one of the Rockies I haven't been to a game since I was five years old and I have watched every game I could since then this is my only chance to see my favorite sports team play this year. This is why I love the Rockies!

Two double plays and a homerun later the game was tied. I love the Rockies because the thrilling game always keeps you on the edge of your seat. My teacher, Mr. Dunham is crazy for sports, in Rocktober every one in my school decorated our doors to show our care for the Rockies. When I walk into the stadium I see the beautiful lush green grass and I smell the popcorn, cotton candy, and hot dogs. I absolutely love the game .most people don't have the same love for the game as I do but this experience

Would change that forever!

The game starts, the first batter steps to the plate,

The ball hurdles towards him, he swings, the ball ricochets off the bat, and the bat shatters as the ball goes zooming through the air towards

The sky. I think you would have to be crazy not no love this ecstatic game. I love the Rockies! And I would love to enjoy this experience! The Rockies are heroes to me and to you.

Bam! The ball soars into the crowd, the bat lying helplessly in two on the dirt while Matt Holliday rounds the bases as the stadium simultaneously screams, "Holliday, Holliday, Holliday!"

Of course I would be full of baseball jitters as the Rockies started their next fantastic season anywhere I sat, an aroma of the buttery glaze of popcorn or the sweet scent of cotton candy wafting toward my nose. But, I would truly enjoy myself if I was able to sit with eleven other people that I would surely enjoy and take advantage of watching my favorite professional Denver team, the Colorado Rockies.

For me, watching the Rockies in a box suite would be an honor. I have been going to Rockies games since I was three years old, cradled in my dad's lap, a hat a little too big, an ice cream cone a bit to soggy, but a happy little heart cheering on my home team, a smile from ear to ear. To this day, I love watching the Rockies anywhere and anytime, but it would be awesome to watch them during school, which is one of the many reasons why I love baseball. The feeling of anticipation, tension, and butterflies, it would be overwhelming to have that sensation of jubilance while missing school.

Like I mentioned earlier, I've gone to countless Rockies games in the past, and the most exuberating was when I went to the Play In game. But if I were given the opportunity to go to any game in a box suite, it would knock the socks off of that game! (If you know what I mean) Sitting there, it would be seemingly immortal, delightfully ageless, and even priceless. If I was given the chance to watch the game in your suite won by writing something, I would be in a world of magnificent paradise!

The Rockies are a fantastic team, and it would be amazing if I were able to watch them from a box suite, a once in a lifetime experience, it would be a breath taking memory that I would cherish for the rest of my life.

Under the lights some eye blacks some, gum, a bat, a glove and a team ready to play Baseball. But when people see the ROCKIES they think of heroes likeMatt Holiday, Yorvit Torrialba, Tulo and much more. I think in ever ROCKIES fans eyes they see fierce competition and watching them win the ecstatic game. When the ROCKIES are down by three in the 9 inning the ROCKIES count on the fans and the fans count on the master mines of baseball to win the game and I want to be apart of the fans cheering on the presidents of base ball. Almost al of the famous base ball players like Manny Rameriz and David Ortiz are only playing baseball because of the money but every single one of the ROCKIES play for the fans and the fun and the game of baseball. I'm sure people question the ROCKIES loosing but when people say that they have to remember the saying from Clint Hurdal respect every thing and be in awe of nothing. I'm a kid that plays baseball and I look up to the ROCKIES baseball team and remember they started out were I am know. And I would love to invite 12 of my friends that also love the ROCKIES to join me in the suit for A ROCKIES awesome game so pleas support me on the mile high field and ever since I went to my first ROCKIES game when I was 4 and ever since then I've dreamed of being in a suit thank you for this possibility thank you

"Hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn right here," the Rockies vendors yell. I have always loved the Rockies and have always have had a passion for the game! All the Rockies are my heroes and role-models for me because they set their selves aside from every team by having a winning and losing attitude. It was so much fun watching the Rockies earn their way to the world series and victory! The only problem was that I never have gotten to go to a Rockies game. I have missed out on so much not being able to smell the sweet aromatics of the pink fluffy cotton candy, not being able to be apart of the wave in the crowd! I want to be able to say I went to the Rockies game! I wish I could.

I have lived my life the past few months from Clint Hurdle's saying respect everything and be in awe of nothing. It has with out a doubt changed my perspective on life and everything around me. It has taught me not be scared of taking that extra step knowing I could be wrong or I may fall but just get right back up again!

It would be an honor and my elation to sit in the Denver Post's box watching my favorite team.........THE ROCKIES!!!! My entire life is centered and based on the Rockies . This is a once and a blue opportunity that will never come again so please pick me so I can sit in your box watching the Rockies play baseball! It would be a cherished and treasured memory for the rest of my life!

Sincerely #1 Rockies fan,

Denver Post

Grand slams, homeruns, base hits, and strike outs wow that is the life of baseball. Baseball is what my family lives around. We breathe it and live it all at the same time. Seeing Todd Helton, Mat Holiday, and Troy Tulowitski, makes my heart pound as speedy a race car an a speed way!!! In Rocktober my class did a celebration where we decorated our desk, oh boy did we keep

up with the Rockies on that week!!! The smells of hot dogs, candy, and drinks make me more and more pumped up for the game!!! I know everyone would love to win this but if I could go I would be happier than a fat kid with cake!!!

3 strikes and a mad player later. That batter is out of there!!! If I could be the person here in the Mile High City to win this home run contest I would be so thrilled!! I would be so excited I would literally be jumping off the wall!! So know that you know my passion for our home team the Rockies let me, a triplet, be able to go to this one and only marvelous game that I will never ever forget!!! So for know all I have to say is LETS GO ROCKIES!!! LET'S GO!!!

Do you love the Rockiess?

Well with the wind going through my hair the excitement. There's just to much. Smelling the cotton candy, nachos, popcorn. And the love of the game. Wearing a glove and hoping to catch the foul ball. You're here the crowd doing the wave. And the thick hard bat hitting the leather ball. And having party's in the box. You don't have to watch the game you can party all day. Free food, free everything. Except you have to pay for the box. You can have a privet bathroom, TV. You can party; party till you can party no more. Its heaven yet to come.

Do you love the Rockies?

The crowd roars. The game is about to begin. We rise and place our hands to our heart, and then the players start their game. The sun drifts to the center of the sky and the sugary smell of cotton candy fills the flooded stadium.

Every time I'm there a smile so big slinks up my face, that it seems as if the corners of my mouth will brush the clouds. I love how every where you look you can hear the vender's call," Peanuts! Peanuts! Get your peanuts here!"

Every minute of the game my eyes are glued to the field, watching the players pull up the leafy green grass with their cleats. This is the only sport that I can take a day off from school and kick back and have a good time. This time my teacher is giving the opportunity for me to do it. That's why I love the Rockies!!!!!

Why I love the Rockies

Wow, being able to go to a Rockies game would be so exhilarating! I would love to go because the Rockies are my states pro team so it would be even more significant than going to any old baseball game. I can imagine it now............

"Popcorn, get your popcorn here!!!" CRACK!!! The ball smacked the baseball bat. Two sodas and a bag of popcorn later I would be screaming with the rest of the crowd jumping up and down. All of the venders trying to advertise over all of the screaming fans.

The lights were as bright as the sun, shining on the field. The umpire shouted "Play Ball!!!" Fans screamed and jumped up and down.

Rockies flags as purple as grapes souring in the air. People would be going wild just for the national anthem. The empire yelling "1, 2, 3 you're out!" Fans disappointed from the other team.

I want to go to the Rockies game because I am a fan of baseball. I am a fan of baseball because it is an exciting sport. If I had to choose any other sport than gymnastics to play it would be baseball no doubt. I play baseball/catch with my dad all of the time outside. That is why I want to go to a Rockies game.

I love the Rockies because ... #1 they are really good at baseball. #2 they are almost like heroes. #3 they are important to Colorado (I am a citizen of Colorado). #4 they are baseball players and I love baseball. And last but not least #5 I watch the Rockies all the time on TV. I would love to go to a baseball game at Coors Field.

I the ROCKIES

Why I Love the Rockies...

Conner Lambden

Red Rocks Elementary 303-982-9069

The Rockies rock, rock my world in such a dominant way. If they lose a game, my head hangs low; if they win, I am a blissful bigheaded boy. This elucidates my relentless cheerful spirits this last season; soon to be happen again. The Colorado Rockies have suffered losses, but perseverance and determination keep pushes them on-top. Their undeniable skills, impenetrable defenses, and love for the game are only a petite suite of factors that compose my favorite baseball team. More influentially towards me is their resilient hearts. They have never given up, and, batting in my baseball cleats, are the most meritorious and dulcet superstars in the MLB.

My walls are covered with Rockies Posters, magazine cut-outs, and any other article of "Rockies" material, while an integral collection of Desktop Rockies litter my desk. Another influential factor is a privilege. Privileges I receive from my team are extreme bragging-rights, comprehensive satisfaction, and a sky-high spot on the baseball fan pecking order. The Rockies are the foundation for my love of the game, and are my continued inspiration.

Do You Love the Rockies?

Why do I love the Rockies? Or maybe I should say, "Why do I adore the Rockies?" The air, the stands, the game! These are all things, but why? Why the Rockies? When I was three I would always watch baseball with my Dad. He always promised that someday he would take me to a Rockies game. When he finally did it was the summer of 2002. We headed to Coors field, me in extreme excitement we watched the game, and my life as a Rockies "nut" began.

Excitement rushes through my body every time I sit in those stands. The Coors field stands. With the smell of popcorn, hot dogs, and rich juicy burgers fills my nostrils, and the cheers of the wild fans, organs, the sounds of the hard ball rocketing of the aluminum bat, and venders selling like mad fills my ears. It's as if I am playing the game myself. Being the baseball nut that I am, I have had experience playing the game myself, but never in my wildest dreams have I been near as good as Matt Holiday, Aaron Cook, etc. My heroes!

Adrenalin courses through my vanes every time I see the colors purple and black. The need to move hits me when I see these colors, why? The Rockies! I, an eleven year-old boy would do anything to "ditch" school to see a game in a totally ecstatic suite! It would be a dream come true for I, an unimaginably huge Rockies to watch the only game that my teacher, a sport nut as well, to miss some of school to see because it is one of the only sport that is traditionally played, and still is, during the day. During school! So make the right choice and pick me because I answer this question. Do you love the Rockies? Positively!!!!

Do You Love the Rockies?

Cole Parkinson

My hand is coated in sweat from wearing my glove all the way to the Rockies game, and I can start to smell the fresh aroma of peanuts, and I imagine the mouth-watering scrumptious taste of cracker jacks and hotdogs, this is how each game begins for me.

I can remember going to Rockie's game since I was barely as tall as my dad's knees. Then I was up to his waist, and I kept inching on up, and as I went up, so did my love for the Rockies. Now I am 12 years old, and my love for the Rockies has skyrocketed up, up, and up. It is not only at Rockie's game when I express my ever dominate love for the Rockies, I even do at school!! Back in October, my desk was littered with desktop Rockies, and my class decorated our classroom door with an enormous Rockie's hat with multiple hand made paper bats and balls with each of our Rockie's hero's name on our ball. Occasionally we would even turn on the Rockie's game on the T.V. and cheer for our home team.

The sensational Rockies have had multiple past seasons that haven't really been the greatest, but the have bounced back like a well-trained boxer after receiving a near knockout punch. Who wouldn't love the Rockies after the incredible season they just experienced. I have always loved the Rockies and after this past season, my love for the Rockies has grown even more.

Up until the World Series, the Rockies swept, swept all the opposing teams threatening their right to victory. And who wouldn't want to watch Todd Helton, Garret Atkins, Matt Holiday, and Troy Tulowitzki come together again to storm through this season from the best seats in the house? I would never want to miss out an extraordinary event like that, especially when I am watching my favorite team. If I would be able to watch a Rockie's game from an amazing view from a suite, my feet would lift off the ground and there would be glorious music playing like in the movies. For instance, the first game of this competition is during a school day. Does the Avalanche have games during the day? No. The Nuggets? No. The Broncos? No. This would be the only time that my sports fanatic teacher would let me "ditch" school. And the best way to spend that time is in a suite cheering for the team I love.

I have stuck with the Rockies through all their ups and downs like an angry bee content on landing on and stinging a person, except that I have stuck with the Rockies for a good reason. I am unable to separate from the Rockies.

This is why I deserve to cheer from the comfort of a suite for my favorite team, the Rockies.

Do you love the Rockies?

The fans, the noise, the food, the bottom of the 9 th fury, and the smell of the rubber on a fresh cut baseball. I love the Rockies as if they were my family, family that runs in my blood.

I've been a fan for a while and every time I go to a game the hopes of catching a baseball rushes to my head like an avalanche dashing down a mountain. I love the Rockies for not only how they play, but when they play. When the Rockies play they inspire me to work on my game even more. I also like them because they always try their hardest to the end. And that also inspires me to never give up.

The outstanding streak to win 21 out of 22 was sensational, one of the best in the history of baseball. The hopes almost left, but they fought till the end.
Even though the Rockies got swept in 4 games to Boston in the World Series, they still had an outstanding season, as great of a season that Barry Bonds had last year beating Hank Aaron's all time homerun record. They were the winners of the National League, they the team who swept the Yankees in 3 games, and the ones who fought hard enough till the last second to make a play in game against the San Diego Padres.

If I could ever have the chance to do this, and be able to win, it would inspire me to love the Rockies even more. It would make this perfect opportunity a great memory to come. That is why you should pick me to have this chance of a life time come true

Popcorn in my long gold hair, peanuts on my ruined jeans. I don't care, I love the Rockies. It's the big h- what the? Hey! Hey! Get out of the way! Shoot I missed it. "Come on" I say as I turn to look up to the girl in the box (!) I sigh and again try to watch the big game.

Life without the Rockies will be like a rotten egg even worse a rotten egg with RADISH! No purple waves, No cracker jacks, No use of the song "take me out to the ball game", No organ sounds, No cheers, No excitement!

Rockies is as natural to me as it is as eating an oatmeal cookie with my mouth. I'm serious I wouldn't know how to live if Rockies was not here... here it could be behind my glass door. It could be behind the wall of my suite if I got it... A kid got it...(with my parents of course)

A whisky pop and a home run later the fans around me roar with delight. I wouldn't be listening to this IF I was in the box.

Yes I'm a kid yes I have school but that's the point I can't do this any other day this is my chance my only chance. My teacher is allowing me my parents will go with me but YOU DECIDE not my parents not my teacher YOU!

Rockies. The mere name fills my heart with joy. Why you may ask. Well I cherish the Rockies because of their skill, courage, hope, and endurance. Who wouldn't love them when they have stars like Matt Holiday, Todd Helton, and Troy Tulowitski? Yah sure some people like the Yankees, Red Sox, ect, but I love my home team the Rockies. Of course some people think it was a fluke that they made it to the world series, but I think they got what they deserved when they made it there. Baseball and apple pie American traditions right. Well that is they way I see it any way. The Rockies keep this tradition alive in my heart. I need these tickets to finally experience a real baseball game. It would be like coming out of the fog into the light of reality. The only Rockies game I've been to was a long time ago and I didn't appreciate it. Now I wish I had. I wouldn't mind just going but a box would be spectacular. A dream come true. These tickets wouldn't be just mine. No. They would also be my family and friends. My favorite cousin and her family would be invited to come. Which they probably would. To see a game with her would be absolutely perfect. Yes perfect to me. She also loves baseball. I know there are other kids who need these tickets more than I do but I would love to see the Rockies play in person. Instead of through a smudged TV screen. I want to smell the peanuts and popcorn. To see what I want to see not what the camera is pointing at. This is why I love the Rockies and deserve these tickets.

Why I Love the Rockies!

Let's go Rockies! Let's go! The defiant roar of the fans everywhere makes the crowds grow even louder then they already are. Why do we love the Rockies so much? Somewhat because they are the home team, but there are a lot of other reasons, too. For instance. They aren't your everyday National League team. They don't through a hissy fit every time they lose, they push themselves harder. They truly are role models to me, that's part of why I love them.

Yeah. . . They haven't always been the best team, but after their potent streak, it's hard not to love them. "We love you Rockies!!"

And as our role models continue their battle of the bases with their heads held high, you can bet your bottom dollar that most will be rooting for them. As far as I know, which I know a lot about the Rockies, they haven't done anything unhonorable, like some teams, like cheating and drugs. And moreover, they make it clear to us. They play their best, even when they are losing. That is so cool!

As the crack of the bat against leather echoes through the Coors Field Stadium, I know I love the Rockies, and I have a good reason why.

Do You Love The Rockies?

The batter is up, and here's the pitch, it's a long fly ball down to left field! 1 st base, 2 nd, 3 rd, homerun! The Rockies win!

Life without baseball would be like life with two brothers, P.S, it would be horrible! Life without my own personal suite with all my best fiends would be even worse! I love the Rockies and I love going to there exciting games, but not as much as I would love watching them play from one of those ornate boxes that are made for Rockies fans like me, to sit and watch the game with amazing views of the field.

Purple waves of jerseys, hats, and fome fingers fill the arena as the Rockies set themselves in place, outfield. My eyes scan the loud arena. The blaring roar of the origins fills my ears.

Oh, how I wish I could attend a Rockies game. If I could, I would be one fortunate 11 year old girl, one fortunate 11 year old girl happier than a fat kid at a pie-eating contest! I love the Rockies.

I love the Rockies because they are not only great players, but they are great examples for kids my age.

Going to a Rockies game would be a dream-come true! It would be the only time my teacher would give me the opportunity to ''ditch'' school.

Now you know my passion for the Rockies, their game, and baseball. So, please let me brag to my brother about how he is not coming with me to a Rockies game and how he is not going to watch from a suite, and let me have the box seats tickets to see the one, the only, the Rockies play baseball!

Rockies:4 Padres:4.

Crack! The sound of crowd go silent, waiting, watching to see if one of the Rockies' can catch the magnifincently hit ball, to prevent Padres from winning the game. It's caught!! Wow! My old and new home team angenst each other.

My dad and I are huge Rockies fans! When they are playing we are watching. Only once have I been to a Rockies game, so I usually watch it on t.v.

I have never seen, let alone been in, a box suite.

For me an 11 year old girl to go during a school day would also be awesome! My teacher is giving me the opportunity to try to get this box for free , and "ditch" school.

This opportunity is perfect for me!!!

I am going to start the entire paper with this one sentence "I love the Rockies." The Rockies rock, they made it so far in the World Series. The only reason they lost the last game is because they were going up against the (evil) Red Sox. During the World Series the Rockies plowed through every one but the Sox. I have to admit, I've only been to one Rockies game, that doesn't mean I don't like them, it means I can't afford a ticket. Thus meaning that getting even one ticket would give me another chance to cheer on my favorite team once again. GO ROCKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do You Love The Rockies?

Music fills the air and the aroma of peanuts suffocates my nose. "Ooaf!" some careless body shoves me into another anonymous person. With just that a miniature game of pinball revs up. I glance up longing to be in the cozy intimate suite that sits at the top of the field were I could get the faultless view of the team I love playing the game I adore. I try to cherish all of the chances I can capture to watch the Rockies play. But, with all of the fanatical people it's hard to take it for granite. I love the Rockies for so many reasons. Here is a couple.

First of all the Rockies aren't one of those stuck up teams that you see everywhere. A win and sweep later most teams get too big for their britches. Nope, not the Rockies, they don't become all snooty and arrogant. They just keep on keepn' on, doing their best! This is why I love the Rockies.

This team also has hope and heart. Heart like a lion on its daily hunt and hope, like no other team. They have ambition, soul, and will, they redeem themselves. This is why I love the Rockies.

And last but certainly not least the Rockies have courage and confidence. Courageous, daring, and fearless. Confidant, assured, bold, and faithful. They don't give up, they are valiant and dauntless.

This team has hope and heart!

This team has courage and confidence!

This is the team I love!

This team is the Rockies!!!

If only my longing could stop exasperating me. If only my dream could come true. I love the Rockies but want to enjoy a game in a more pleasant area. Were there isn't all of that hustle and bustle without the pushing and shoving, a place like a suite!

Way to go, Mr. Dunham's Class. All of you sound like you're "nuts" for the Colorado Rockies. Good luck!
