My Brother Made Me Do It
Contributed by: Elizabeth Turner on 5/10/2008

Why do I like the Rockies?
Well, at first I didn't care.
I would root for them when I watched,
But then I'd leave it there.

When I watched a game
I'd be glad if the Rockies won.
But when the game was over,
I'd turn it off, and I was done.

But then last year, my brother
Began to follow the team.
He'd turn on the radio
And listen to every game, it seemed!

Well, as the year went on,
His excitement was contagious.
He talked so much about the team
That to listen seemed advantageous!

And so I joined my brother
And listened as they played.
I began to follow stats and scores
And all the runs they made.

As I started to listen,
(It may have been my brother's plan)
I soon realized that I was becoming
A full-fledged Rockies fan!

As the year wore on
And the playoffs came,
The Rockies seemed to decide
That they liked winning every game.

They did a great job.
And I had lots of fun.
But when they finished playing,
I didn't want to be done!

This year I am excited.
I am quite curious, too.
I am anxious to see
Just what the Rockies will do.

So why do I like them?
I'll have to blame my brother.
He surely helped me out,
In one way or another!
